Director Tiffany

Since she was in kindergarten Teacher Tiffany knew that she wanted to be an educator.  Through youth sports, Girl Scouts, co-oping and teaching, she’s been working with children for over 20 years including nine as a preschool director. She is currently our Director and PreK Teacher where you’ll often hear her say “Let’s find out!” and “What do you think?” as she’s reading books (the sillier the better) or doing science experiments.  She loves the community of Bunker Hill Nursery School and starts the day by admiring the beauty that surrounds us as she walks up the hill to enter our school.

Teacher Mollie

Teacher Mollie is excited to begin another year co-teaching 3Day. Her background is in Sociology and both Early Childhood and Elementary education, and she has a special interest in cultural inclusion and neurodivergence in early childhood. She taught preschool through first grade for over ten years, and most recently was a co-op parent with her own two children. Being a co-op parent created a deep appreciation for play-based learning and the collaboration that happens between families and teachers in a co-op setting. Mollie loves when children begin to connect with their environment and community, and observing to see how their creative play unfolds. She also enjoys sharing children’s literature, messy art, and pondering the natural world with children. She is drawn to Bunker Hill’s unique and beautiful space and how it changes with the seasons.

Teacher Sarah

Teacher Sarah uses her background in design to encourage children to view the world through a lens of wonder. She co-oped with both of her children at Bunker Hill for six years, and fell in love with the generous and empathetic community fostered among our teachers and parents, so much so she became a qualified Preschool Teacher and is entering her fifth year as a teacher here. Teacher Sarah embraces our sticky friends spirit and has a passion for working with young children and Early Childhood Education. She believes that children benefit greatly from a connection to nature and jumps at the opportunity to help them explore the natural world in our meadow and 93-acre woods. When not picking up bugs, Teacher Sarah can be found crafting small costumes for her gecko or looking for fascinating fungi in the woods.”

Teacher Katie

Teacher Katie enjoys learning as much from the children as she teaches, she loves getting to know each of the families and diving into each day as a new adventure. This is her seventh year as an Early Childhood Teacher and her second year at Bunker Hill. She loves that Bunker Hill has so much outside space and utilizes the love of mother nature into the curriculum.

Teacher Mae

Teacher Mae is an accomplished artist living in San Mateo, alongside her husband and daughter. Her passion for teaching is inspiring children to express themselves. As a new Assistant Teacher at Bunker Hill Parent Participation Nursery School, Mae is embarking on a journey of learning and exploration. With a supportive community, fellow teachers, parents, and enthusiastic children, she’s excited to nurture young minds, encouraging them to explore, experiment, and engage in fun and play.

Sticky the Banana Slug

Meet Sticky, Bunker Hill’s beloved banana slug mascot! Sticky is often found while hiking in the 93 acre woods at the back of campus. Children in our programs delight in identifying him and his relatives while hiking and learning about his natural habitat. He is famous for inspiring Bunker Hill’s motto, where sticky friends are quickly made, which is also a reference to the sticky fun children experience with a variety of mediums, including slime! Sticky is lovingly embraced by the community in song, art projects, and slug references throughout the school including Bananagrams, Banana Screens, Sticky Notes and Sticky Packets!
